A Profile Of A Fascinating Person

Gerry Wilson is the most thought-provoking character I have met. He gives a viewpoint quite different from anyone I know personally.

Gerry gets you thinking outside the box. He is not the ordinary run-of-the-mill sort of guy. His words cause you to think in unlikely ways. It is the reason I like conversing with him.

Once, when chatting with him, describing someone, he remarked that the person is like a battery that does not take charge. There are diminishing returns involved.

You see, Gerry is involved in mental health therapy - psychotherapy. And his remarks when coaching athletes may seem casual. However, one has to pay very close attention, or the logic is lost. If you fail to follow his trend of talk, you risk losing his acute rationale. So it behoves one to listen to his every word.

What is most interesting, I find considerations that I have not thought of before whenever I talk with him. And I wonder, ‘How come I didn't think of that before?’

After a conversation with him, I have to make sure to fully analyze and take notes. And I have to add my new realization to my overall quota of reasoning.

You know, when talking with others, you are not exposed to a mind that compels you to be fully engaged. I now see why people go to therapists. He unearths newfound truths! I am amazed! And it is all for free. I am blessed to have a friend like Gerry. I look forward to his calls.

When I was thinking about writing this account of him, I thought I did not know what to write. However, when I got down to it, it was easier than I thought. It revealed to me that all along, I had a valuable friend that I should always cherish.

On the surface, he may seem like an in-your-face kind of person. The reason you think so is that he is telling it like it is. Like him or not, he gives his honest outlook. You can be sure to get a person who is extremely honest and truthful in his views and remarks.

If you do not like someone telling you things that you never thought of before, this guy makes you feel indebted to him for his wit. What can you do but listen, just listen! You can learn something about yourself. Many times, I learn things, and I see from an altogether different perspective.

It is good to have someone like him, for he is like a special tool in your toolbox, to take out and use on a rainy day. He is like an umbrella. He covers a multitude of possibilities. You can only treat Gerry with utmost respect, love, admiration, and appreciation.

Those souls in our lives are a blessing. I give praise and thanks to God for those fascinating personalities like him in our lives.
