The name "Love Doing List" came about from a past relationship I shared with a dear, beloved friend who has since gone to heaven.
One evening after work, I came home and found a "to-do list" addressed to me. In this list was a series of chores that was given to me to complete.
To tell you the truth, it felt like I was someone's slave. It was not a good feeling at all!
Assignments given to close ones should feel like love notes. That is where the "honey-do list" presumably came about.
So I there and then decided to call our list "Love Doing List."
It felt like a myriad of activities I enjoyed doing for someone who shared loving feelings with me.
And if it is a number of undertakings for me, myself, to do, calling it 'love doing' makes me want to do it more readily. It is like using psychology on myself!
Still, up to this time, I use a "love doing list" for all I do every day.
Lists are a part of life!
Which reminds me of another list—"The Bucket List." Do you know what it is and where it came from?
When we use a term, we should find out where it originated.
It means a list of activities we wish to complete. Wait for this—before we die.
How is it and why is it that the word bucket, is used to describe the term? How on earth did this bucket get attached?
Well, we have to go back to the days when people were hanged with a rope around their neck while standing on a bucket.
The bucket was kicked out from under them, and they met their demise. They were left 'hanging.'
In those days, tall, sturdy buckets were used.
When someone dies, the term occasionally used is 'They kicked the bucket."
People were also hanged while sitting on a horse that was strongly urged to ride off with a slap to the animal's hindquarters.
As you can see, that is how some things have evolved in life.
If you still like the connotation of the word 'bucket,' to that list, carry on.
If my list is to do brainstorming, inventory, or shopping, whether it is a checklist, a booklist, my list of goals, my playlist, menus, or any kind of list, I will continue to use my "Love Doing List" even to describe my daily, living, and loving lists.
