We can train our minds so life can be joyous and more fulfilled. And that means overcoming unwanted habits.
In my last blog post, I mentioned that -
"Just before we fall asleep and before fully waking, we can use Alpha brainwaves with a frequency range of 8 to 12 Hertz to do meditation.
"The fact is, by slowing down our heart rate, with slow rhythmic breathing we can enter in Alpha.
It is simply a very relaxed state. We can at will become relaxed with different aids.
Such as instrumental music with a beat slower than our heartbeat. Other aids are breathing slowly and deeply to cause a relaxed state.
Visualizing peaceful and quiet scenes causes one to also become calm.
When we are in such a serene state, the mind is poised and very receptive to positive thoughts and images.
The mind is now in subconscious mode. Since we are no longer active, the conscious mind is not activated fully.
So now entering positive thoughts of health and wealth will retrain the mind. This process can be short. However, it must be repeated a few times a day, and every day thereafter. This is to ensure what we are feeding our mindset will ultimately take effect.
Another important aspect to take note of is the 'words' we use to instruct our minds in our meditative state.
